What started as an unexpected adventure

My name is Malak and I am a 24 year old Danish/Arab - born, raised and (partially) living in Copenhagen, Denmark. I graduated back in 2016 and today I hold a Master degree within marketing, business communication and English.  I've been working with HR and recruitment during the past 2 years.

In 2015, I married my best friend and together we want to travel the world. 

Back in 2013, during my Bachelor degree, a friend of mine and I, decided to apply for taking a semester abroad. At first we couldn't decide on where to go, but we were both sure that we were going somewhere. First we checked out London, which was probably our consideration  based on location. England was close to home and had a, what we at least thought at the moment, - a familiar culture.

I think it was the weather conditions, but I'm not sure - but somehow we started checking out universities in the states. It wasn't easy imagine traveling so far, but we knew if we were gonna travel so far we could get better weather, which I guess is why we ended up in California.

In April 2013 on the same day of a massive school shooting in California, we recieved an email from a university in San Marcos. With unimaginable joy, we started planning and preparing for a whole semester abroad, in HOT, exotic, and beautiful California. 

Growed into a lifestyle

When we came home after six, amazing, challenging, scary, perfect, and best months my passion for travel was born. I was only 20 at the moment and I felt like I just discovered the unknown. Not that this was my first time traveling, but it was definitely my first time traveling to the unknown, unfamiliar and on my very own.

Later in 2014, I visited Italy for the first time, went to explore and see different beautiful cities in Turkey and took a christmastrip to Berlin with my best friend. In the following year I got married and my Husband and I began this amazing life together with one goal - Travel as much as you can to wherever possible.
